However, because the tile is clear, you have to be more careful with it when installing clear glass tile, due to the fact certain wall colors or surface defects might end up being visible through the colored tile backing. Frosted glass tile is popular, due to its flat opaque surface. 
• For an interesting effect, bubble glass tile is also available. This interesting tile contains small bubbles in the glass, which were introduced during the manufacturing process, giving the tile a textured type of appearance.
